Finally! The Show is OPEN!
I am pleased to announce that GROWTH & TRANSITIONS: PANDEMIC PERSPECTIVES is finally open and features the work of Vicki Piersieg, Juliana Scherzer, Susan Paddon and myself.
The actual unveiling of this exhibition has had to bend to the whims of the Pandemic and all its restrictions, just like all of us.
The work was created for this project during a 12 month period beginning in 2020 through Spring of 2021 by the individual artists working in isolation during the first and second waves of a Global Pandemic while living on Cape Breton Island. The goal was to produce an archive of work from this strange time that we would then bring together and exhibit to the public in May of 2021 which was unfortunately cancelled due to a lockdown and its restrictions. Irony! We are finally able to show the work, as the 5th wave seems to be levelling off. There may be some restrictions for the gallery-goer to follow in order to view the exhibit, but I am so relieved it's getting its moment after a long ten month postponement. Looking at the work created for this show reminds me of how far we've come and how long it seems we've been standing in place.
The exhibition can be viewed at the Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design's Loft space Gallery in Sydney, Nova Scotia from February 10th - March 19th, 2022. Please check with the Centre for hour
