Working mainly in acrylics, I draw on inspiration from collected vintage and vernacular photographs, remembered poems, rhymes and stories. I am particularly fond of fairy tales and the way they were illustrated and told with an enchanting sweetness even when the tale was grim and dark.
I am also a collector of vintage and random found objects.
I use all of the above impressions in my work using carefully chosen subjects and often the objects themselves. These bits and pieces are merged with paint to bring their own history and a renewed value together to tell tales that are both imagined and true - Teena Marie Fancey
